Label TextThis “cartoon” or drawing was made for a stained-glass window produced by Morris and Company in 1891 for the Chapel at Ilford Hospital in Essex, England. Burne-Jones was responsible for a significant portion of the stained glass design work produced by the firm of his friend William Morris. Clement was a first century pope who was martyred by the Roman emperor Trajan.
