Label TextThis is one of a series of posters, produced during World War I, by students in the Paris schools. The text reads: Close your curtains to avoid alerts! During the war, wardens who were responsible for enforcing the blackouts that ensured that no artificial light escaped into the night sky to aid enemy bombers, called out alerts to houses where curtains were not fully drawn.
