Biography: Born in Brooklyn, New York, Marion Greenwood traveled widely, finding inspiration in Mexico, India, and China. She studied at the Art Students League and athe Académie Colarossi in Paris. In the 1930s she lived in Mexico, where she painted murals, a practice she continued after her return to the United States in 1936. During World War II she worked as a war artist for the U.S. Army. After the war, she traveled to India, Hong Kong, and China. In the 1940s she exhibited at the Associated American Artists Galleries and her work sold very well. Under the auspices of AAA she produced lithographs related to some of her paintings.
