Biography: South-Australian-born Martin Bruehl moved to the United States in 1919 with his brother Anton and his German-born parents. In the 1920s he and his brother ran Bruehl Studio in New York. They produced advertising and editorial photographs, celebrity portraits, and images of theatrical production. The Bruehls were pioneers of commercial color photography.
