Biography: California printmaker Mildred Bryant Brooks was born in Missouri but moved to California as a child. She studied at the University of Southern California and the Otis and Chouinard Institutes. In 1929 she began her teaching career at the Stickney Art Institute in Pasadena. She set up her press and printed for other artists in Pasadena. Brooks was a member of the California Society of Etchers, the Chicago Society of Etchers, and the Society of American Etchers.
