About: The publisher did not use this cover design study for The Wolverine: A Romance of Early Michigan. The artist's fellow Pyle student Arthur E. Becher won the commission with a more detailed and realistic composition. The BB monogram in the lower left refers to Corson Day's married name of Bertha Bates.
