About: During World War I, the Young Women's Christian Association joined with the United War Work Campaign, a coalition of several organizations, to support the cause of American and allied-force groups dedicated to the war effort. Lucien Jonas was a French artist commissioned by the government of France for patriotic paintings and posters during the war. His work was also published in America.
