About: Created as a stand-alone cartoon, A Map of the Heart features six Brinkley Girls in a classroom holding slate boards, under two hearts with map grids. The theme plays on the 1910-1920 use of “map” as slang for a face: the group is studying the art of the beautiful face, getting ready to take their knowledge beyond the classroom. The professorial Cupid at right is otherwise occupied, his instruction not needed by the six specialists in romantic seduction.
