About: This print was produced at the Brandywine Workshop when the artist was in Philadelphia during the run of spring–summer 1999 exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It is typical of the artist’s style and formal pairing of image and text, and the text is taken directly from the first volume of John Ruskin’s book, Modern Painters, published in 1843.
