About: David True began exhibiting in Chicago and New York in the mid-1970s, and in 1978 he was included in Richard Marshall's seminal exhibition, New Image Painting, at the Whitney Museum of American Art. The exhibition surveyed the new trend of portraying everyday objects and symbols with ambiguous narratives to be translated by the viewer.
