About: In this novel, four young English sisters are sent to live with their aunt while their parents struggle to earn a living in Canada. Here youngest sister Poppy entertains herself with her doll while the housekeeper tends to sewing. The ornate archaic lettering, embellished with holly sprigs, adds a nostalgic mood to the image. Eugenie M. Wireman studied with Howard Pyle and was the sister-in-law of Katharine Richardson Wireman.
