About: Late in his career, Charles Burchfield often reworked earlier paintings. In this painting, the farm house is typical of his early subjects, while the plants in the foreground are painted in his style from the 1950s. The artist may have returned to the picture around the time when he inscribed it to "Rossie" in 1956.
